Film & animation to communicate complex chemistry
The Challenge
The Royal Society of Chemistry’s ‘Horizon Prizes’ recognise innovative science being undertaken by chemical scientists globally. The RSC wanted to showcase the ‘science behind the scientists’, by gifting each of its winners a multimedia package.
Our Approach
Our challenge was to communicate complex chemistry in a simple and engaging way
We scripted and produced a series of short films and animations targeted at professional and lay audiences.
Films were spliced into vignettes for use across social media, providing a simple and effective way for scientists to tell their stories. University marketing teams were also able to make use of the films as part of their recruitment and public engagement marketing activity.
The Results
We have produced 24 films for the Royal Society of Chemistry’s Horizon prize winners
It can be tough to get scientists to explain their work in layman’s terms. Sciad’s professional approach and storytelling ability has made this happen. We have been impressed with the end-result.
