Maximising Returns from Life Science Innovation: Genesis Conference 2024
London, United Kingdom, 29th November 2024 / One Nucleus
The 24th Life Science networking conference, organised by membership organisation One Nucleus, will be hosted at the Royal Society of Medicine, on Wednesday 4th December.
In a ‘first’ this year, Genesis is being co-located with Life Science Nation’s annual ‘Redefining Early-Stage Investments’ conference, connecting companies developing drugs, devices, digital health and diagnostic products with a global network of capital investors and licensing partners.
Delegates can register separately for both events, taking advantage of partnering and networking opportunities. This gathering of over 500 potential connections means plenty of opportunities for collaboration.
The life sciences landscape this year has remained challenging, yet exciting. Biotech and pharma companies have been managing growth and innovation, while navigating the changing landscape of politics, regulation, funding, AI and digitisation – all of which is transforming how innovation is translated into patient benefits.
Tony Jones, CEO of One Nucleus comments “Genesis is always a highlight of the year and brings together all players in the life science ecosystem; from regulatory and trade advisors to start-ups, large pharma, research collaborators, investors and CROs. Our aim is to review the year’s highs and lows, celebrate success and think ahead to opportunities and challenges in the coming year”.
This year’s keynote speaker, Elin Haf Davies, understands the importance of bringing innovative science, regulatory knowledge and technology together, to benefit patients. Elin Haf is the Founder and CEO of med-tech company Aparito, recently acquired by Eli Lilly & Co, which uses wearable technology and apps to change the way healthcare professionals monitor patient well-being. Her ambition is to improve the experience of patients with life-limiting diseases, undergoing clinical trials.
“We associate the word ‘genesis’ with generation and creation, and this has always been our ambition with our annual Genesis conference – creating a forum to progress innovation in the life sciences, through the delivery of keynote panels, presentations and fireside chats. This year is no exception, with influencers such as George Freeman MP, architect of the UK Office for Life Sciences and David Rosenberg, Secretary of Commerce for Indiana, on the agenda. David has recently secured over £14Bn of investment from Eli Lilly and will be discussing how world- leading ecosystems can be enabled.
This will be complemented by investment and industry leaders discussing the key opportunities and trends the sector holds and what best practice in harnessing those opportunities looks like. Being joined for the latter part of the day by RESI London delegates, it is fitting that we explore ‘Inside the Mind of Life Science Investors’, preparing everyone to leave with insights into how they will secure the best deals in 2025 and beyond”.
