Our Work, British Heart Foundation

Stimulating international research

Our Challenge

The British Heart Foundation (BHF) funds vital research into the causes, prevention, diagnosis and treatment of heart and circulatory diseases. The charity’s challenge was to stimulate research to deliver revolutionary advances within the field, while also increasing its international profile.

What we did

We worked with the BHF to launch the Big Beat Challenge – a unique research funding award

One of the largest Grand Challenges of its kind, the competition culminated in a single research award of £30m aimed at accelerating breakthroughs in heart and circulatory disease research that could transform lives around the world. We publicised the award globally, with a paid media campaign across multiple channels.

We designed and created marketing assets to use in paid content placements and emailers, and to distribute via the TrendMD network. We ran Google Ads campaigns and issued press releases, which secured coverage in many top-tier publications and journals.
