Strategic engineering PR campaign

The challenge

Watson-Marlow Fluid Technology Solutions (WMFTS) is a highly respected international engineering company — a world-leader in niche positive displacement pumps and associated fluid path technologies.   

Having recently acquired a series of sub-brands, WMFTS approached Sciad in 2020 with a brief to communicate regular launches of new and extended product lines. 

Our approach

Working with the  WMFTS PR lead, Sciad devised a campaign to ensure that the newly expanded product range was recognised as being part of the WMFTS family.

Press releases, case studies and thought leadership pieces were pitched to the media as well as creating webinars to position WMFTS as leaders in their field. WMFTS was entered into awards to help differentiate from the competition and editorial feature opportunities were researched to secure international print coverage.

Results

A focus on media relations led to an increase in year-on-year coverage, with articles featuring in print and online international titles across a variety of sectors.

WMFTS was a finalist in the Cork Company of the Year Awards, with the submission video played to the Irish Taoiseach at the awards ceremony. In addition, a WMFTS expert starred in an episode of a technical video series. The company continues to build its internationally recognised brand and strong reputation as an expert fluid path solutions provider with media and industry partners.
