Whilst studying for my degree I undertook a placement year at GSK working in drug discovery. I was able to witness first-hand the amazing research going on behind the scenes right around the time that the pharmaceutical industry was experiencing huge amounts of negative press coverage. New drugs and treatments were overshadowed by the public perception of the ‘evil’ pharma industry and the adverse impact this had on the staff, as well as the company’s reputation, was evident.

In a world of instant access news, getting the right story heard by the right people has never been more important. I am therefore excited to join the team at Sciad and look forward to the opportunity to work with innovative science and healthcare companies to communicate their developments more effectively.

I graduated from the University of Sheffield in 2016 with a first-class masters degree in chemistry. I loved my time at Sheffield, researching drug delivery mechanisms and writing for the department magazine, so I am keen to get back into scientific developments as part of the Sciad team.
