Account Manager

We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Account Manager, with a science background, to join our growing team on a temp – perm, full-time basis. Starting with a temp term of 3 months. 

MUST HAVES:

  • Experience working in science communications
  • Experience writing press releases, conducting media outreach and sell in and digital media strategy implementation and reporting
  • Solid writing skills
  • Understanding of the use of social and online platforms for use in corporate communications
  • Willingness to take on a variety of tasks, from account admin to account management
  • Project management skills and experience
  • A hardworking mindset and drive to deliver work to be proud of

PR OVERVIEW   

The Account Manager has the responsibility to manage the day to day delivery of tactics across client accounts. He/she contributes directly to the management of deliverables as set out in the communications plan and is responsible for ensuring deadlines are met.

REQUIREMENTS   

  • University degree or equivalent in a science related subject
  • More than 4 years in public relations  
  • Good reputation supported by previous employers
  • Demonstrated ability to handle a variety of complex challenging assignments  
  • Experience working with traditional and digital media, including social platforms and paid Google Ads
  • The role is full time Monday to Friday

RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Business Development  - We are a small team and value all members contribution to new business, both seeking opportunities to grow client accounts as well as identifying  new leads either through industry awareness and attention and/or participating in networking events
  • Establish and maintain trusted relationships with clients
  • Provide professional account handling by demonstrating industry / scientific knowledge
  • Manage accounts to high standards of service, on time, on strategy and within budget and ensure director/partner is updated on key changes to the plan
  • Complete timesheets accurately on a weekly basis
  • Understand life science/ biotech / tech industry trends
  • Share skills, knowledge and expertise and train junior team members when appropriate (lead a lunch and learn session)

SKILLS   

  • Science background
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities across accounts
  • Well‐developed analytical skills  - understanding and able to interpret data found on Google Analytics
  • Strong writing skills
  • Good presentation skills 
  • Ability to construct a creative PR plan to meet a complex brief
  • Broad knowledge of media in area of specialty, including established relationships with media representatives  
  • Strong organisational skills, including ability to prioritise and to balance multiple priorities and demands  
  • High level of attention to detail and excellent quality control skills  
  • Adaptable to different client situations and cultures

Trainee Digital PR/Marketing Executive

This is a training role for people interested in science and health PR, especially digital communications. You will be exposed to a broad range of digital marketing communications projects including the following activities:

  • Search Engine Optimisation and Google Ads Management
  • Providing daily admin support to the Managing Partners and PR Account Executive
  • Data Entry
  • Editorial admin and proofreading
  • Preparing regular client reports and attending client meetings
  • Attending industry networking events
  • Liaising with clients and the media via telephone and email
  • Monitoring the media
  • Researching, writing and distributing press releases to targeted media
  • Social media including Twitter and LinkedIn
  • Email marketing support
  • Project management support for design and website projects

Who we’re looking for:

You will be a bright, talented Graduate with a Science Degree or equivalent with an ambitious character. You’ll need excellent writing skills with a positive and willing to learn attitude. We’re looking for someone who is professional, outgoing and friendly, with excellent communication skills, a knack for networking and a passion for digital communications. Digital Marketing Executive

This is a role for people interested in science and health digital marketing, PPC and paid social. You will be exposed to a broad range of digital marketing communications projects including the following activities:

  • Paid social campaigns on Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn
  • Preparing regular client reports and attending client meetings

  • Monitoring clients' competitors to inform your PPC strategy
  • Researching and preparing campaign spreadsheets and materials
  • Email marketing support
