SAN FRANCISCO, CA., 4th November 2014 / Sciad Newswire / SynBioBeta, the leading community within the synthetic biology field, announced that bio-pioneer J. Craig Venter PhD, will be this year’s keynote speaker at the 3rd Annual SynBioBeta SF 2014 conference, November 13th to 15th at Mission Bay Conference Center. Venter founded and leads the J. Craig Venter Institute, Synthetic Genomics, Inc., and Human Longevity, Inc. He will address attendees on Friday, November 14th.

In its third year in the Bay Area, SynBioBeta SF is the leading event within the synthetic biology community. The conference provides a venue for startups, established companies, investors, and academics to meet, partner, exchange ideas, and learn about the latest advances in the rapidly evolving space. Various industries being disrupted by synthetic biology will be represented, including waste carbon manufacturing, DNA synthesis, flavor and fragrances, and more. In addition, the event will feature an investor roundtable and a lightning round of news, updates, and announcements from around the field, including companies taking part in a government sponsored trade mission from the United Kingdom.

SynBioBeta SF 2014 will kick-off with a Welcome Reception on Thursday, November 13th at the Autodesk Gallery, hosted by UK Trade and Investment, and will include an introduction to the 11 UK companies participating in the trade mission. On Saturday, November 15th, SynBioBeta will be presenting a Networking Brunch Cruise past the Golden Gate Bridge, open to anyone in the synthetic biology community to attend.
